4 tips to set your studio up for success!

Here are four of our top tips for setting up your studio for success and ensuring that your guests leave with timeless, classic portraits they’ll cherish forever.
1) Opt for simple furniture: 2 stools and an armchair
There’s no need for fancy furniture. You don’t have to rent expensive couches, chaise lounges, or an elaborate set. You can pull pieces from your venue, work with your existing rental company, or rent directly from us.
With just two stools and an armchair, we can photograph dozens of people and set up a wide range of poses.
2) Skip the step-and-repeat
We get it; you want to incorporate your logo, and a step-and-repeat can seem very red carpet.
But, if you want your guests to hold onto their portraits as keepsakes, displaying them on the mantel or their office walls, you may want to skip the branded backdrop.

3) Avoid mirrored or reflective backdrops

4) Proceed outside with caution
Outdoor studios can create stunning photos, but it’s all about location, location, location!
When finding an outdoor location, avoid windy areas. The elements can wreak havoc with lighting, backdrops, and your guests. No one wants their hair disheveled or accidentally showing off too much skin!
Likewise, picking a sheltered location can also help protect against bright sunlight. Softer, indirect lighting will help your guests look their best and avoid harsh unflattering shadows.
