3 ways to create the perfect portrait studio at your next event

You’re excited about bringing our 5-star magazine-inspired photoshoot to your next event! But, you might be wondering how to create your perfect studio set.

Well, the good news is: You have options!

Building the scene for your luxury photoshoot is a collaborative process. While we have some suggestions based on our years of experience, we are flexible and will work with you to dream up an appropriate backdrop, posing furniture, and floor plan that complements the styling, design, and décor of your event. From luxuriously elaborate to classic simplicity, here are three of our favorite ways to create a stunning studio set-up…

Option 1: Rent a backdrop and furniture from The Vanity Portrait Studio.

Sometimes less really is more. One of our favorite studio set-ups makes use of a plain wall or pipe and drape with just two stools and an armchair. We offer custom velvet backdrops and two furniture styles to create a studio set that matches your décor.

You can rent one or both depending on your needs.

By using a solid and seamless background, your photos will exude timeless luxury and work with just about anything your guests might be wearing.

And, with just three pieces of furniture, you can create a wide range of poses and configurations for individual portraits, couples, and even bigger groups.

Option 2: Create an immersive experience with rented décor.

Go all out! If your event features extensive styling and decor that sets the stage for a very immersive experience, use furniture from a rental company and enhance those pieces with styled decor to create an experience your guests will forever remember in their portraits.

Maybe you want your studio to feel like a moody lounge, or your event needs a family-friendly circus vibe or a whimsical French flower garden. You can accessorize or feature florals (like this stunning creation from Flowers by Edgar) to create a studio set to match the rest of your event.

The possibilities are endless!

Option 3: Use your venue.

Incorporate architectural features or unique elements of your venue into your set design. Think beautifully paneled walls, giant fireplaces, or a spiral staircase. Using what already exists can create beautiful photographs and showcase the amazing location you’ve selected for your event. Now just find a few pieces of on-site furniture (ahem, an armchair and at least one stool for various heights), and you’ll be set!

This is also a great option if you’re hosting a corporate event at your company’s location. You can incorporate branded elements on-site right into your photoshoot, like this event at Westward Whiskey.

Bonus: Opt for the ultimate in classic portraiture with our new black and white studio set.

Black and white portraits on a white background are the ultimate in classic, timeless portraiture. If you want to give your guests the purest and most enduring portraits, go for this striking option. This look results in clean, crisp, everlasting portraits, and ALL about making your guests the exclusive star of the show.

No matter which option you choose, using one of these studio set-ups will ensure you create a memorable portrait experience and a lasting take-home gift for your guests.
