4 of our favorite poses for couples!

Who can forget those awkward photos with their high school prom date?!

But, you’ve grown up. So have your relationships, and you deserve better photos with your boo!

Whether you’re snapping a photo on your phone or working with a professional photographer, here are four of our go-to couples poses guaranteed to help enhance your look and capture an enduring portrait of your relationship…

#1 The One Up, One Down

To achieve this pose, all you need is a stool or a chair and have one person stand, and one person sit. Having a blend of one person standing and one person sitting creates intrigue and a playful dynamic between people.

Then switch it up! Couples can swap positions and create a totally different look!

#2 The Double Decker

Using a chair or a sofa, sit on the arms or the seat or the back to create different tiers of seating. Having one person sit on the arm and one person sit on the seat will add a dynamic element to your portraits.

Bonus, it’s a great pose for couples with a significant height difference!

#3 The Canoodle

Capture an embrace. Sharing a seat, one S.O. can wrap their arm around the other and get cozy.

Just avoid having your legs facing straight toward the camera. Point your legs away from the camera, and you’ll be in better shape. No couple wants their photo to look like a visit to Santa!

#4 The Starry-Eyed Gaze

One look says it all—take at least one picture of you locked eye to eye, checking each other out!

These looks can be emotional and intimate, and then they can evolve into something playful and sweet or outright comedic. This may be our favorite shot as it provokes a genuine interaction and results in a beautiful testament of a couple’s love.

Combine these poses, and you’ll end up with a whole album that you absolutely love.
